Age Requirements Minimum age for renting an ALAMO car is twenty-one (21) years except where provincial law provides otherwise.  In all provinces an Underage Driver Fee of twenty fivedollars ($25 CAD) per day per driver will apply for renters and additional drivers age twenty-one through twenty-four (21-24), inclusive, years.
Additional Drivers An additional driver fee of $4.99 CAD (or less) per day per additional driver will apply.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)   CDW limits the renter’s financial responsibility for loss or damage to the rental vehicle. Included is protection against fire, theft, and vandalism. Where the rental rate includes CDW, the renter will only be responsible for the following deductible: $250.00 CAD deductible

Where the rental rate does not include CDW, the renter will have the opportunity to purchase one of Alamo’s Waiver Saver products at the time of rental.  The Waiver Saver products provide multiple levels of protection to better serve our customers’ needs and avoid out-of-pocket expenses for damage to or loss of the rental vehicle.  The purchase of CDW contractually waives or limits the renter’s liability for damage to or loss of the vehicle.

CDW is null and void if damage to or loss of vehicle results from driving on unpaved roads.

Extended Protection (EP)   Extended Protection is NOT available through Alamo at rental locations within Canada. (European Renters are protected by  RentABC`s special 3rd party liability insurance via Axa Colonia up to 1.000.000 Euro which is included in the rental fees)
Carefree Personal Protection (CPP) Only valid in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton   In Western Canadian locations, Carefree Personal Protection provides weekly disability income, accidental medical expense coverage, emergency medical evacuation coverage, coverage for damaged or stolen personal property in the rental car, and 24-hour toll-free traveler's assistance services. CPP's package of useful products makes it an ideal product, especially for international travelers who often don't carry this level of comprehensive protection outside their home country.  $7.99 CAD per day.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) / Personal Effects Coverage (PEC) Only valid in Toronto, Halifax and Montreal   In Eastern Canadian locations, Alamo offers PAI/PEC, which provides accidental death and medical benefits for the driver and passengers as well as loss/damage to personal property.  PAI/PEC provides all travelers with peace of mind by supplying a popular level of personal and property coverage for their rental period.   The current PAI/PEC price is $3.99 CAD per day.
Seatbelts and Child Restraint Seats Provincial laws may require the use of seatbelts and child restraint seats.  Seatbelts and child restraint seats can save lives.  We urge you to use them.  To avoid serious injury or even death, use child restraint seats only in the back seat of the vehicle.  Older children who do not use child restraint seats should ride properly buckled-up in the back seat. ALAMO offers child restraint seats at $5.99 CAD per day.  Seats should be requested at time of reservation.
Fuel Options

ALAMO offers customers two (2) choices:

(a)           A full tank of gas can be purchased at time of rental.  The price is competitive and the service is convenient because the renter does not have to worry about taking time to stop and refuel before returning the car (there is no credit for remaining fuel).  This is an excellent option for rentals of five (5) days or more.

(b)                 The vehicle is rented with a full tank and the renter is responsible for refueling at the end of the rental, (otherwise a refueling service charge will be incurred).  ALAMO provides a refueling service at time of return for one-stop, one recipient convenience.  This is the ideal option for renters traveling only a short distance.

Airport, Province and City Imposed Taxes and Fees   Unless otherwise stated, rates do not include any Governmentally (Federal, Province, County or City) imposed or authorized taxes or fees nor any airport fees or airport concession recoupment fees which may apply.
One Way Rentals   All one way rentals must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. Oneway rentals are restricted to rentals between Alamo Canadian locations. Canada to United States oneways are restricted to rentals between the following cities only:
Halifax      to  Boston/Buffalo/Detroit
Montreal  to    Boston/Buffalo/Detroit
Toronto   to   Boston/Buffalo/Detroit
Edmonton   to    Seattle
Calgary    to Seattle
Vancouver          to    Seattle

Drop-off charges may apply and are payable at time of rental.

Driving Areas Vehicles can be driven within any province in Canada and the United States. The vehicle must be returned to the location where it was rented from or a drop-off charge will apply.  Vehicles may not be driven into Mexico.  Driving on unpaved roads voids Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage.
Ski Racks Requests for ski racks must be specified when placing reservations. A fee of $7.00 CAD per day will apply for the use of ski racks.
